Rotterdam Salsa Festival

De tweede editie van het Rotterdam Salsa Festival vindt plaats van vrijdag 6 tot en met zondag 8 november 2026 in Theater Zuidplein aan de Gooilandsingel 95 in Rotterdam-Zuid, een van de moderne cultuurlocaties van de stad, met meerdere zalen en een ruime foyer die zich perfect leent voor een festivalprogramma. Na een succesvolle eerste editie heeft het festival zich snel een plek veroverd op de Nederlandse Latin-kalender. Drie dagen lang draait het programma rond workshops, shows en parties met Cubaanse salsa, bachata en kizomba als dragende stijlen. Vrijdagavond opent het festival met de opening party: een avond om aan te komen, oude bekenden te ontmoeten en de festival-vibe op te pikken. Zaterdag is de hoofddag: vol programma workshops voor alle niveaus overdag, gevolgd door de gala-night met live shows, top DJ's en doorlopende social vloeren. Zondag sluit af met een laatste workshopronde en een afsluitende party. De Cubaanse-salsa-stroom is bewust sterk vertegenwoordigd, met casino-, rueda- en timba-workshops naast de meer LA-style en bachata-tracks. Vrijdag deuren om 19:00; zaterdag en zondag exacte tijden via rotterdamsalsafestival.my.canva.site/2026. Tickets in pakketten (full pass, day pass, party-only); early bird is aan te raden. Niveau breed door het uitgebreide workshopaanbod, van beginner tot gevorderd. Dresscode: workshop-kleding overdag, festival-chic 's avonds (de gala-night nodigt uit tot iets stijligs). Neem een outfit-wissel mee. Theater Zuidplein ligt direct boven metrostation Zuidplein (lijnen D en E vanaf Rotterdam Centraal in 12 minuten); auto-parkeren in de Zuidpleingarage onder het complex. Boek je full pass vroeg, want Rotterdam Salsa Festival is een van de groeiende namen op de Latin-festival-kalender en deze tweede editie wordt naar verwachting een nieuwe stap omhoog.

What is Cuban salsa?

Cuban salsa (also known as Casino or Salsa Cubana) is the original salsa from Cuba. It is danced in a circular motion and emphasizes connection, improvisation, and rueda de casino — a group dance where couples switch partners in a circle.

Do I need a partner?

No! The Cuban salsa community is very welcoming to solo dancers. Partner switching is common, especially in rueda de casino. You are always welcome to come on your own.
